The relationship of the steering wheel, pedals, and the shift knob position plays a quite important role in vehicle tuning, especially in driving conditions where strong g-forces occur, when it could be crucial. Almost without exception no racing machine is without a bucket seat.

Almost without exception no racing machine is without a bucket seat. Form and function both need to be given close attention with any performance seat design in order to provide the optimum support and positioning for the driver.
The "S1-R" MUGEN has been further developed as an evolved version of the previous best seller model "S1". The size of the base shell has been recalculated to provide better grip and support, and low-resilience urethane foam adopted as the cushion material, which, along with a seat back protector, comes as a standard option; the result is better driveability and a more direct feeling of the car, and its controls, for the driver. Resin plated material is also used for buckle.
Due to such improvements, drivers (and passengers) can enjoy in secure comfort anything from ordinary street driving, to the extremes of circuit driving. Needless to say, full crash tests have been carried out, to front, back and head areas, as well as outer and inner side areas, to provide a high level of safety for occupants of the "S1-R" MUGEN seat.
Furthermore, the seat rails have been developed exclusively for use with the MUGEN seat, ensuring excellent low-position seating, whilst also featuring a 3-position height adjustment system. High strength and rigidity are achieved through T cross-sectional rail and double latch construction.
Along with the improved driver security, the seating area has been expanded to provide the ideal driving position, with the height of the side support also being taken into consideration in order to afford the driver easier access and exit from the vehicle. In conjunction with the "S1-R" MUGEN seat, the addition of the MUGEN shift knob can help contribute to a better and more secure overall driving position.
